World Football Culture Archive

Football is more than a game. It is a language spoken in every corner of the world. The World Football Culture Archive exists to preserve the moments that statistics never capture ... the child kicking a ball in a dusty street, the family gathered around a television on a summer night, the café erupting after a last-minute goal, the handmade flags hanging from balconies, the vendors, songs, rituals, celebrations, heartbreaks, and traditions that turn football into a shared human experience. Across Africa, Europe, the Middle East, or anywhere around the world, whatever generations, and cultures, football connects people who may never meet but understand the same joy, hope, and belonging. These stories are often local, fleeting, and undocumented. Yet together, they form one of the world's greatest cultural archives. This project is an invitation to photographers, filmmakers, sound recordists, collectors, fans, and communities everywhere to contribute their own stories. Whether from a village pitch, a city square, a neighborhood café, or a World Cup celebration, every contribution helps preserve how football is lived, loved, and passed from one generation to the next. Because the history of football is not only written on the pitch, it lives in the people who carry it.
