Young male students wearing traditional Al-Azhar white and red caps (taqiyya) sit at wooden desks inside a classroom at an Al-Azhar affiliated religious school (madrasa) in Qena, Upper Egypt. Al-Azhar schools provide Islamic education combining religious curriculum with standard academic subjects and are found across Egypt, with a strong presence in Upper Egyptian governorates such as Qena. The classroom setting reflects everyday school life within Egypt's state-run Islamic education system.
