Al-Max Lighthouse rises above the choppy Mediterranean Sea in the Al-Max district of Alexandria, Egypt, viewed from the rocky shoreline with large breaking waves in the foreground. A narrow iron walkway bridge connects the lighthouse to the coast, while dramatic cloud cover fills the sky above. Al-Max is a historic fishing and coastal neighborhood on the western edge of Alexandria, and its lighthouse has served as a maritime navigation marker along Egypt's northern coastline.
