A child dressed in green sits with his back to the camera on a stone embankment beside a calm green canal in Qena, Upper Egypt, shaded by a large willow tree whose branches hang overhead. A concrete road bridge crosses the canal in the background, with a red vehicle partially visible. A patterned rug and a plastic bottle are visible on the stone surface nearby, reflecting everyday life along Upper Egypt's inland waterways.
