Aerial view of three workers sorting and separating freshly harvested dates by hand in Dahshur, Giza, Egypt. The dates, predominantly red and dark varieties, are spread across a large ground tarp alongside woven baskets and plastic crates used for collection and transport. Date sorting is a labor-intensive step in the annual harvest cycle, carried out by agricultural workers who separate clusters, remove stems, and grade the fruit before sale — a traditional practice tied to the livelihoods of farming families in the Dahshur area.
