An Egyptian male artisan shapes small clay cups on a spinning pottery wheel inside a traditional mud-walled workshop, with multiple freshly formed unfired cups arranged on wooden boards nearby. His hands and clothing are heavily coated in clay dust, reflecting active hands-on craft production. Pottery making (Fakhkhara) is one of Egypt's oldest surviving crafts, with roots dating back to Pharaonic civilization, still practiced today in villages across Upper Egypt and areas like Fustat in Cairo.
