An Egyptian male potter works at a traditional pottery wheel (Dawlab), carefully shaping a raw clay vessel by hand inside a dimly lit, clay-covered workshop. Finished and unfinished ceramic pieces are visible around him, along with clay fragments and tools. Pottery (Fakhara) is one of Egypt's oldest surviving crafts, with traditions dating back to ancient Egyptian civilization and continuing through generations in areas such as Fustat in Old Cairo and the village of Fayoum.
