Hundreds of Muslim worshippers perform the Eid al-Adha (عيد الأضحى) congregational prayer in full prostration (sujud) on the open street outside a large ornate mosque in Cairo, Egypt, featuring a prominent arched facade with Islamic geometric tilework and a minaret. Spectators observe from the rooftop of an adjacent building as the prayer rows extend across the surrounding streets, a common practice in Egyptian cities during major Islamic holidays when mosque interiors cannot accommodate the full congregation.
