The El Max lighthouse rises above the Mediterranean Sea at the end of a weathered wooden pier in the Al Max (المكس) neighborhood of Alexandria, Egypt. Waves break against the shoreline in the foreground while a large water wheel structure is visible along the pier to the right. The image is captured during daytime under a partly cloudy sky with soft diffused light.
