This photograph captures a fisherman seated on the coastal breakwaters surrounding the stone pedestrian bridge and towers of Qaitbay Citadel in Alexandria. Framed by the historic architecture and the waters of the Mediterranean Sea, the scene reflects the enduring relationship between the city and the sea. The stone bridge linking the towers stands as a distinctive feature of the citadel complex, while the solitary fisherman adds a human element to the landscape. The image combines Alexandria’s maritime heritage, coastal engineering, and everyday life in a single composition overlooking one of Egypt’s most iconic waterfront landmarks.
