A fisherman stands at the edge of a stone-block breakwater along the Mediterranean coast in Cleopatra, Alexandria, casting a long fishing rod as large waves crash around him. The rocky seafront platform, characteristic of Alexandria's northern shoreline, extends into the foreground while the city's dense residential skyline stretches across the background. This scene reflects a common everyday activity along Alexandria's Corniche (Kornish), where local fishermen regularly cast lines from the waterfront regardless of rough sea conditions.
