A warm and nostalgic documentary scene from the heart of rural Egypt, capturing three elderly villagers sitting on the dusty ground beside a small canal, dressed in traditional galabeyas and rural caps while deeply focused on playing “Al-Sega” or the 7x7 version known as “Al-Sabaa'awiya.” Small stones are carefully arranged across the hand-drawn game grid in the dirt, surrounded by quiet conversations, laughter, and memories of old village life. The image beautifully reflects the simplicity of Egyptian countryside culture and how traditional folk games continue to preserve social connection, community spirit, and heritage across generations.
