A weathered green wooden boat is displayed inside the courtyard ruins of Qusseir Citadel (Al-Qusseir Fort), an Ottoman-era fortress built along Egypt's Red Sea coast. The structure features thick stone and mud-brick walls with arched openings, under a clear blue sky. The citadel dates to the 16th century and served as a military and trade post controlling Red Sea maritime routes, including pilgrimage traffic to Mecca.
