About this asset
A large bronze equestrian statue of Ibrahim Pasha (إبراهيم باشا), son of Muhammad Ali and commander of the Egyptian army in the 19th century, stands at the center of the paved courtyard of the National Military Museum (Al-Mathaf Al-Harbi Al-Qawmi) at the Citadel of Salah El-Din (قلعة صلاح الدين الأيوبي), Cairo. The figure is depicted in military dress with one arm raised, mounted on a rearing horse, elevated on a tall ornately carved marble pedestal inscribed with Arabic text. The courtyard is flanked by historic stone and ochre-painted buildings typical of the Citadel complex, under a partly cloudy blue sky.
