The open-air exhibition courtyard of the National Military Museum (Al-Mathaf Al-Harbi Al-Qawmi) inside Saladin Citadel (Qalat Salah El-Din), Cairo, displays a bronze statue of a military commander set among manicured red flower beds. Surrounding the statue are retired Egyptian Air Force jets, artillery cannons, tanks, and military vehicles arranged across the courtyard, with visitors walking among the exhibits under a partly cloudy sky.
