A street musician plays the Mizmار Baladi (مزمار بلدي), a traditional Egyptian wind instrument, for a large crowd gathered in a narrow residential alley off Ahmed Esmat Street, Cairo. The celebration marks the end of the Thanaweya Amma (Egyptian high school final exams), a major annual milestone for Egyptian students and families. Colorful banners are strung between apartment buildings as residents gather on balconies and in the alley below to share in the festivities.
