An elderly Egyptian potter leans closely over a clay vessel, using both clay-covered hands to carefully shape the rim in a dimly lit traditional workshop. The craftsman, wearing a knitted skullcap, demonstrates a generational pottery-making craft (Akhdar El-Fakhhar) still practiced in rural villages of Al-Monofeya governorate. The scene was captured in Garris village, Ashmoun district, Al-Monofeya, where traditional hand-pottery craft remains an active rural industry.
