A male quarry worker in traditional galabiya and head wrap operates a large mechanical stone-cutting machine at the Minya Quarries, located in the Eastern Mountain region of Minya Governorate, Upper Egypt. Work begins as early as 3:00 a.m. and continues until 11:00 a.m., with workers extracting limestone to manufacture white bricks amid heavy dust and intense heat. The image documents the harsh daily conditions of an informal quarry labor force that lacks occupational protection or insurance coverage.
