Workers at the limestone quarries of the Eastern Mountain region in Minya Governorate, Upper Egypt, extract and process white stone used in brick manufacturing. The laborers, fully coated in white dust, work manually on stone-cutting tracks alongside heavy machinery in an open desert environment. Quarry work in this region is an informal but widespread livelihood, with workers facing dust exposure, physical strain, and limited labor protections.
