About this asset
The Süleymaniye Mosque rises prominently above the rooftops of the Eminönü district in Istanbul, Turkey, photographed from across the Golden Horn. Built between 1550 and 1557 by Ottoman architect Mimar Sinan under Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent, it is one of the largest and most significant Ottoman imperial mosques in Istanbul. The mosque features a large central dome, multiple semi-domes, and four minarets, representing a defining example of classical Ottoman architecture.
