A child carrying colorful balloons passes the elaborately decorated entrance of Saheb El Saada (صاحب السعادة), a theater and restaurant on Al-Muizz Street in Islamic Cairo. The facade features a hand-painted Arabic sign with geometric tile patterns, a sculpted figure of a traditional musician playing an Oud (عود), ornate brass finials, mosaic-inlaid surfaces, blue-painted carved wooden doors, and a decorative Ramadan lantern (Fanous). To the right, a souvenir shop displays Egyptian figurines and trinkets. Al-Muizz Street (Shari' Al-Muizz li-Din Allah) is one of the oldest streets in Cairo, dating to the Fatimid period in the 10th century, and is lined with some of Egypt's most important Islamic architectural monuments.
