The upper towers and terracotta-tiled rooftops of Salamlek Palace are visible through a canopy of Mediterranean pine and ornamental trees within the Montazah Palace grounds, Alexandria. The palace, originally built in 1892 as a hunting lodge for Khedive Abbas II, displays a distinctive Austro-Hungarian architectural style featuring conical turrets, dormer windows, white balustrades, and cream-colored rendered facades. Salamlek Palace is a historic landmark within the royal Montazah estate, which served as a summer residence for Egypt's royal family along the Mediterranean coast.
