A vibrant Sufi "mawkib" [procession] winds through the streets of Cairo to celebrate the Islamic New Year, with participants from across Egypt's governorates and tribes dressed in traditional "galabiyyas" [long robes] and adorned with green and black sashes. The central figure waves joyfully at the camera, bearing a sash reading "Al-Tariqa Al-Rifaʿiyya" — one of Egypt's prominent Sufi orders. Tall banners and flags rise above the crowd against a clear blue sky, capturing the communal spirit and spiritual devotion of the occasion.
