A troupe of performers in traditional white and colorful costumes present the Tanoura (التنورة) folk dance at the Al-Ghouri Complex (قبة الغوري) in the Al-Azhar district of Islamic Cairo. The performance takes place against the illuminated historic stone facade of the Mamluk-era complex, with warm stage lighting highlighting the dancers mid-movement. The Tanoura is a form of Sufi whirling dance rooted in Egyptian folk and spiritual tradition, regularly performed at Al-Ghouri as part of Egypt's intangible cultural heritage.
