Framed through a weathered wooden doorway, a male potter works inside a traditional clay workshop in Gareis Village, Ashmoun district, Al-Monofeya Governorate, Egypt. Dozens of handmade clay water jugs (qulal) and vessels are arranged in rows across the earthen floor and brick shelves, representing an unbroken lineage of Egyptian folk pottery craft. The workshop features a reed-thatched ceiling, mud-brick walls, and raw clay tools — a rare surviving example of rural heritage pottery production in the Nile Delta region.
