Two young children interact on a quiet street in Esna, Upper Egypt — a boy seated on a worn, peeling blue wooden bench holding a snack, and a girl straddling a small bicycle with a bag on her back. Behind them, aged wooden display benches lean against a heavily weathered stone wall with chipped yellow paint, typical of old commercial streets in Upper Egyptian towns. The scene captures everyday childhood street life in a traditional Egyptian neighbourhood (Hay Sha'bi).
